It looks like it would be according to the map (it appears to be "beyond the arrows" ). Regs say 4 miles from TM and one air mile from any road. Anybody ever camp there ?

It's not allowed.
Gaylor, Granite, Dog... not allowed.
You have to be beyond the ridge... or outside the park
(you can camp JUST outside here:

I think that it is actually allowed... but... well... um... oops if not...
I was outside the park when I slept there... um... maybe I'm wrong there...
(I wouldn't do it "in season" though... )

Was told, long ago, north/ far side Granite was OK...searched but cannot find any regs saying different.
Probably I'm wrong, as usual.
That's in Gaylor Creek watershed... so highly unlikely...

I was pretty sure Skelton wasn't allowed either... but... with above... not entirely sure now...
National Geo Map has all the way to the White Mtn to Ragged Peaks ridge as no camping...

OK, the regs say no camping at Gaylor. (It's 1.1 trail miles from the road, so prob. less than one air mile). But Granite isn't specifically mentioned and my bet is it's more than one air mile from Tioga Road. So....
It says "Gaylor Creek Watershed".
That includes all Granite and Gaylor Lakes.
