Yes, true lots or snow. And somehow, we spent three days in Yosemite last weekend (President's Day) and were in nothing but rain. Will need to post some pix of the water flow in HH. Had to turn around well before Wapama Bridge. Totally impassible. Everybody and their dog was at the Crane Flat snow play area and/or Merced Grove parking lots.

I guess it's like having an umbrella prevents rain: we had snowshoes, snowshoe carriers, Katoolahs, poles with snow baskets - and no rain gear other than emergency thin Houdini shells.

I suppose all the rain is therefore my fault...

We got lucky. But don't feel too bad... been hiking in the rain a lot this year... too...
I tried saying no need snow shooz until up switchers at Hetchy... no?

Anyway, have fun... it's all good

Yup, you did say so, and you were right, and I expected you would be right.

We had the 'shoes for Crane Flat trails - which we didn't do because of rain/crowds. The Wapama walk was supposed to be a consolation prize. It was beautiful, lots of water - just wished we could have walked a bit further.

Dang that is a lot of snow! I recall the Dewey trail having lots more snow than last year.

Also Utah is getting hit by a lot snow too!

Cool. As usual, I'm envious. (Is "erratics envy" a term Freud coined?)

What's your guess on what conditions there will be like in late June? Will be in Yosemite for a few days with a 14-year-old daughter and was thinking of doing an overnight from BOFR to El Capitan and then down the Yosemite Falls trail, but it looks like this year, even in late June (a) parts of the north rim will be wet/boggy/buggy and (b) there may be some stream crossings (Wildcat, Tamarack, Cascade, Ribbon) that in normal years wouldn't be an issue at that time but might be tricky this year.
