Wow, that is really useful information. Thanks nwhkr for the opening dates report. I had the illusion I was going to ride a bike up to
Ebbetts Pass this Sunday from Markleeville, but it looks like Monitor Pass is the choice. That is quite the Sonora Pass Snowpack picture.

Huh. I was in Markleeville last weekend too. I wanted to ride up Ebbetts Pass and Monitor. Ended up doing Monitor twice. What a beautiful place, both passes are epic rides IMO. I ran into someone in town later on (buying a single can of beer) who claimed to be working on clearing Ebbetts Pass, but he took off before I could ask him about progress or predictions for opening.

If there were ever a year where the kathoolas should be considered "a must," this would be it. For anything at higher elevations and cross country.
