Re: Wilderness Trail Updates

Snow, soggy meadows and flooded trails remain a July theme in Yosemite Wilderness. Additionally, please note:

• Wapama bridge is damaged: repairs being done, scheduled to reopen mid July.
• Bridges in Pate Valley and Glen Aulin (over Conness creek) are damaged with no estimated date for repair.
• White Wolf Road is closed: must hike to trailheads from Tioga Rd. Road Access to Lake Eleanor Trailheads has reopened.

That's weird.

White Wolf road was open last 2 weekends.

Why would they close it?

Not sure why I'm asking... some stuff just never makes any sense.
Like... why wasn't the road open earlier?

Yup. Agree.

Pretty much I said to self on way by last couple weekends:

"self, they finally got smart and opened the WW gate from the get-go...
now people can park at the trailhead... that's what they should
do... why have cars parked along the road..."

Didn't take notice of the gate, but when we drove by on the 8th there was one of those white plastic sandwich-board sign thingies in the middle of the WW road blocking the way.

Yeah, we had that discussion here.

I received this via email:
"I'm sorry but the trail conditions can only be shared with those that have an NPS network account. This is limitation of the agreement between the Department of the Interior and Google Apps."
