Just wondering if anyone is planning a trip to Mineral King before May 20th? I’ve been debating a trip there around May 20th but just wondering how narly the conditions will be. Micro spikes and trekking poles or will I need to break out the crampons and axe.

MK Road opens May 23

So anyone going before then... Jealous...

MK didn't open until June 15 last year.... and I didn't even cross Franklin Creek then...

They had dire warnings that Franklin Pass was not even doozable WITH ice axe
and crampons for quite a long time (well into July).
We took axe in June checking out Eagle and Mosquito (glissading 500+ ft.... fun!)
Anywho. MK webcams are down. ...

I mean, no way I wouldn't have an axe in the car at least.
