Mt. Hoffman

Just read somewhere on the net that the Mt. Hoffman trail is closed. I don't know if that means the lower portion to may Lake or just the upper use trail to the summit. Anybody know anything about this or why it might be closed?

I don't know why it might be closed, but a few years ago they changed that upper part from a use trail to a "real trail." We hiked it the day they completed the work, and they even had a ranger up there to inspect and gather responses. Frankly, it wasn't much better than a use trail, so maybe they've downgraded it again.
