Upper Kern River Field Trip Scheduled - Reminder!
Lake Isabella, CA., September 25, 2009...The Kern River Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest has scheduled a field trip to the Upper Kern River Canyon. The field trip will include site visits to designated dispersed recreation areas such as Halfway and Chico Flat, as well as, to some unnamed dispersed recreation areas.
On hand for the field trip will be District Ranger Rick Larson, and River Ranger Rob Puryear. They are looking for feedback and ideas from you to help them address issues that are of concern to forest managers on the Kern River Ranger District. The Forest Service wants to provide a quality recreation experience for visitors along the Kern Wild and Scenic River by reducing and eliminating trash, resolving sanitation issues, mitigating resource damage and stopping the cutting of live trees and vegetation.
The field trip is Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If interested in attending meet at the Kernville Office, 105 Whitney Road in Kernville no later that 9:30 a.m. Please bring plenty of drinking water. The Forest Service will provide carpooling opportunities for participants or you may drive your personal vehicle.
