- Beginning on Saturday, December 4, 2009 the contractors will begin pavement striping operations on Southside Drive between Sentinel Drive and the Curry Four Way intersection. Watch for these trucks and crews. Expect some traffic delays.
- On Tuesday, December 8, 2009 Southside Drive will carry TWO WAY traffic between Sentinel Drive and the Curry Four Way intersection. Please observe your lane discipline (Keep Right) and speed (25mph maximum) along this stretch of roadway for the duration of this project.
- On Tuesday, December 8, 2009 Northside Drive westbound ("River Straight"
between the Curry Four Way intersection and Sentinel Drive will be closed for construction operations including trenching. Please do not use this roadway surface until we can open it for limited administrative traffic and shuttle buses in a few weeks. Traffic headed to the Village area, Yosemite Lodge, Camp Four or exiting the valley will be diverted up Southside Drive and over Sentinel Bridge to Northside Drive westbound. The bike/walking paths will remain open as will access to Camp Six (Day Use Parking) via Village Drive. - On Tuesday, December 8, 2009 Northside Drive eastbound between Sentinel Drive and Village Drive will be closed due to construction operations. Traffic bound for the Village and housing areas will be diverted through the admin and residential areas via Village Drive. Please follow the detour signs and watch your speed (25mph maximum) through these congested areas. Please do not use the busway thru the Mall to shortcut this route.
This project is scheduled to continue through the 2010 summer season with additional traffic impacts as it progresses thru Yosemite Village. Traffic Management is preparing for the hiring of additional seasonal summer staffing to assist with mediating summer traffic impacts and issues as this vital project moves forward.
