Bear activity this year peaked in August, with 124 bear incidents. July was the second busiest month with 104 incidents. Bear incidents kept up through November with 31 bear incidents in the month. This past week, we have finally seen a large decrease in bear activity. Please continue to store your food properly as bears are still awake. Proper food storage is necessary 12 months of the year! Proper food storage not only protects Yosemite’s bears, but all other wildlife as well.
