As a result of the lingering snow, I had to scrap a back country I was going to do off of Tioga Road to the Ten Lakes. But, because this is my first time in Yosemite and because I am spending a full week in the park, I wanted to get to see parts of the park (or the Sierras for that matter) that were on the eastern side. Can anyone recommend some good day trip activities around that area (day tripping it from the Valley) or some must see items that will allow me to enjoy the different sights of the eastern side of the park without going knee (or waist) deep in snow and mud?
