...Thunderstorms expected across the sierra and western nevada
Saturday and sunday...

An upper level low moving into the west this weekend will help to
Initiate thunderstorms across the sierra and western nevada.
This evening...Thunderstorms will mainly be north of i-80 and
East of highway 395...With the best coverage through northern
Washoe county. Thunderstorms will increase in coverage on saturday
Into sunday. The best coverage saturday will be north of
Interstate 80 and through mono county. The best coverage on sunday
Will be across western and central nevada as the low progresses
Eastward. Nocturnal convection is also possible overnight tonight
And saturday night but it will be isolated.

The greatest thunderstorm threats will be gusty winds...Small hail
And localized heavy rain. The steering flow is weak...Which means
Storms will be slow to move and flash flooding is a possibility...
Especially if storms train across the same area.

Those participating in outdoor activities this weekend should
Continue to monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared for
Thunderstorms.
