The Merced Irrigation District is conducting a recreational use study to better understand the user needs and experiences of the Merced River Trail, the former Yosemite Valley Railroad right of way. The study will be completed as a function of the hydro-electric New Exchequer Dam and McSwain Dam relicensing processes that are pending before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
