...Winter weather advisory in effect from 11 pm this evening to
Noon pdt saturday above 7000 feet...
The national weather service in hanford has issued a winter
Weather advisory above 7000 feet for snow and gusty winds...Which
Is in effect from 11 pm this evening to noon pdt saturday for the
Southern sierra nevada from yosemite park south to...But not
Including...Kings canyon.
* snow accumulations: up to 10 inches are likely in and near
Yosemite park above 7000 feet extending south to near huntington
Lake and florence lake.
* elevation: the snow level will begin near 9000 feet this evening
Then lower during the nighttime hours to near 6500 feet.
* timing: rain will begin to change to snow late tonight above
6500 feet...And continue through saturday morning. Snow will
Taper off during the afternoon.
* locations include: highway 120 over tioga pass...And highway 168
Between shaver and huntington lakes.
* winds: gusty winds over higher elevations will create areas of
Blowing and drifting snow.
* impacts: road closures or travel delays are possible...Especially
Tioga pass.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow will cause
Travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited
Visibilities...And use caution while driving.
