The Valley wood lot debris pile is being scheduled to be burned over the weekend of November 6. A favorable weather window is predicted for the weekend that will facilitate smoke dispersal and minimize smoke impacts to Valley residents and visitors.

Wawona area debris piles burn projects will begin the week of November 8, if favorable weather persists. The Wawona area vegetation piles include Bill’s Hill, near Forest Drive, and along the Wawona Road between Bishop Creek and the Wawona campground.

A burn permit has been obtained from Mariposa County for burning during permissive burn days. All piles will be monitored and patrolled by fire personnel through the duration of the burning.
