The newly crowned kings of the hill in the uniquely death-defying competition to climb fastest up one of the world's most famous and frightening precipices will be rattling their carabiners again today. Rock climbers Dean Potter and Sean Leary broke the 2-year-old speed record climbing up the Nose route on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park on Nov. 6, scaling the giant granite monolith in 2 hours, 36 minutes, 45 seconds.

That's amazing! A far cry from the 47 days it took the very first climbers up the nose on El Cap!
