How to carry snow shoes?

How do you strap them to your backpacks? I figured we would tie them on with some string, but perhaps there is a slick way that I am not thinking of, any cool way to do it?

Maybe velcro ties. I would think that bungee cords of the right length would work. Be careful with the crampons though. Those can be pretty rough on skin and pack fabric.

Webbing straps with buckles works the best IMO.

If you're using a pack with a strap that wraps over the top...
strap the top of the shoe into that. Then use one
buckle strap to keep it from flopping left to right.

You just don't want them flopping around.

The weather has really melted a lot of snow. At this point
I dunno if I'd bother carrying the shoes up Yose Falls even.
As I mentioned in another thread... really disappointed at
the amount of snow melting... although the falls are going
to going .... strong...

(btw... been up Yose Falls to El Cap in early Dec. in other
years and there wasn't much of any snow anywhere...
this year with the big dump... thought it would hang around)
sigh

Have fun
