Hey, I have a quick question about tire chains, on hwy 120 I realize the roads are currently R-2.. what I'm wondering is how long the chain control usually lasts. If its just a few miles I'll just take 120 but if I'll need the chains on for 20miles or so it might make more sense to take 140. I realize conditions are always changing and chain control levels are as well, but since driving with chains requires a much lower speed if chains are required from say crane flat to the valley I would most likely take 140 ..

Thanks!

It's really hard to predict. So my advice is to take 140.

Take 140, and carry chains. Chains are required in the valley as of this morning.
