...Another winter storm to impact the southern sierra from kings
Canyon northward...

.A pacific low pressure system will push through the central
California interior wednesday. Moisture associated with this
System will bring periods of moderate to locally heavy snowfall
Over the southern sierra from kings canyon northward beginning
Late tonight and continuing through wednesday. This is a
Relatively warm system which will keep snow levels around 7000
Feet or above. Locally gusty winds will also be possible with this
System as it moves through the area.

To 11 pm pdt wednesday above 7000 feet...

The winter weather advisory above 7000 feet is now in effect from
11 pm this evening to 11 pm pdt wednesday for the southern sierra
Nevada from yosemite to kings canyon.

* snow accumulations: 4 to 8 inches around 7000 feet with 10 to 16
Inches expected along the crest.

* elevation: above 7000 feet.

* timing: snow will begin late tonight near yosemite and spread
Southward tonight...Continuing through wednesday evening.

* locations include: huntington lake...Yosemite national park

* winds: westerly 20 to 30 mph with local gusts to 55 mph near
The crest.

* impacts: snow covered roads...Treacherous driving conditions.
Possible road closures.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow will cause
Travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited
Visibilities...And use caution while driving.

Watch for heavy snow and strong winds...Which is in effect from
Friday afternoon through saturday afternoon for the southern
Sierra nevada from yosemite to kings canyon. The winter weather
Advisory has been cancelled for the southern sierra nevada from
Yosemite to kings canyon.

The current storm is moving out of the region...And the threat of
New significant snow accumulations this evening has ended.

The next in the series of storms is dropping out of the gulf of
Alaska and will reach the central california interior friday
Afternoon. The heaviest rain and mountain snow will begin friday
Night and continue into saturday. This is forecast to be a cold
Storm...With snow levels lowering to around 4000 feet by saturday
Morning and dropping to around 3500 feet during the day.

* snow accumulations: 4 to 8 inches around 7000 feet with 10 to
16 inches expected along the crest.

* elevation: above 4000 feet.

* timing: snow will spread southward from near yosemite friday
Evening...And continue overnight and into saturday.

* locations include: shaver lake...Yosemite valley...Huntington
Lake...Tuolumne meadows...Mariposa grove.

* winds: south 25 to 35 mph with local gusts up to 75 mph near the
Crest. Winds will become westerly during the day saturday.

* impacts: snow covered roads...Treacherous driving conditions.
Possible road closures.

2 am sunday to 5 am pdt monday for the higher elevations of the
Southern sierra nevada. The winter storm watch is no longer in
Effect for the higher elevations of the southern sierra nevada.

* snow accumulations: from 12 to 24 inches above 4000 feet with
24 to 48 inches above 8000 feet.

* elevation: 4000 feet.

* timing: snow developing tonight becoming heavy at times sunday
And into sunday night. The snow will diminish in intensity and
Taper off to showers late sunday night and into early monday
Morning.

* locations include: camp nelson...Giant forest...Johnsondale...
Lodgepole...Shaver lake...Yosemite valley

* winds: up to 65 mph over higher ridges and along the crest
Will create areas of blowing and drifting snow.
