Joint Training - California Highway Patrol and Yosemite Helicopter Rescue Team

A joint training will be conducted between California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Yosemite Helicopter Rescue Team on the afternoon of May 24 and the morning of May 25. The training will be based out of the El Capitan meadow and will focus on technical hoist insertion onto the East Buttress of Middle Cathedral using CHP helicopter H-40. All climbing routes on Middle Cathedral will be closed from 7:00am on May 25 until the training is complete. No climbing closures will be in place on May 24.
