The Sierra Nevada Monitor, the new biannual newsletter of the Sierra Nevada Network Inventory & Monitoring Program, is now available and can be downloaded from the network's website: http://science.nature.nps.gov/im/units/sien/monitoring/Reports/SpringNewsletter0101_sien_20110516.pdf. This issue highlights monitoring projects that are in the field this season (birds, high-elevation forests, and lakes), and provides staff profiles on Shawn McKinney and Jennie Skancke, a general schedule for our field projects, a status update on monitoring protocols still being developed.
