Los Angeles Man Drowns In The Kaweah River
A 45-year-old Los Angeles man on an inner tube-type floatation device drowned on Sunday, July 3 after he was swept down the Kaweah River near Buckeye Flat Campground. A ranger, notified by a family member that the man was missing, immediately initiated a search and rescue team, including helicopter surveillance. The man was discovered about four or fivemiles downstream and pronounced dead at the scene. This drowning incident is under investigation.
