On July 20th a fire was discovered burning near Trail of 100 Giants in the Long Meadow Giant Sequoia Grove on the Western Divide Ranger District, Giant Sequoia National Monument. The "Giant Fire" has reached approximately 25 acres and burned to within 50 feet of the Trail. Currently there are two engines and a 20 person hand crew working to extinguish the Giant Fire. The cause of this fire is under investigation.
