Went on a 4 day 50 mile loop over red peak pass this weekend. It was a great way to see a good variety of what yosemite has to offer, but was more strenuous than I expected.
Lower ottoway lake was placid and full of fish. There were quite a few groups camped up there on thursday.
These are the upper ottoway lakes from near the top of red peak pass.
The east side of the pass still had a bit of snow, but was still passable by a couple of novices.
Iceberg in a tarn.
There were still many wildflowers out there to spice things up.
We only saw one other person between red peak pass and washburn lake.
The final climb back up to glacier point was a painful slog, but the views made it worthwhile.
