Yosemite Hike Nov 12th

Any suggestions. We wanted to do Lambert Dome -- but I don't think we can get there. 4 miles or so and Medium difficulty is the goal. (1 day)

Assuming Glacier Point Road is still open, the Sentinel Dome-Taft Point double is a nice one. From the valley: UYF trail to Columbia Point round-trip, maybe.

4 miles round trip or one way? Agree with Sentinal and Taft, if road is open.

Forget about anything in the High County, with the snow coming down now, you're looking at 16 inches in Touloumne when all is said and done. More snow next weekend is forecast. (I'm assuming you don't want to snoeshow it). smiling smiley

What about the Four Mile Trail on the valley floor? Great views, 9.2 miles RT and even if Glacier Point road is closed, it won't matter.

It won't matter, except that they close the Four Mile Trail soon after they close the Glacier Point Road. It's on the shady side, and suffers from falling ice & stuff. But the Yosemite Falls Trail is on the sunny side, and stays open longer. And the Snow Creek Trail stays open year round. You could just go up it until the snow gets deeper than you would like, then turn around...

It doesn't normally close at all. But it does get icy.
