Summer Teen Program in Yosemite National Park Offers Academic Enrichment and Wilderness Adventure
Date: March 8, 2012

Registration is now open for two week field research course

NatureBridge, the largest residential environmental education partner of the National Park Service, opened registration today for its Summer Field Research Course at its Yosemite campus. The course consists of a two-week backpacking trip where teenage participants create and carry out their own ecological research project and learn about the natural history of the Sierra Nevada.

The course offers the ultimate teen summer adventure, combined with rigorous academic content and a challenging backpacking trip in the Yosemite wilderness.

"Teenagers emerge from the Summer Field Research Course knowing how to think like scientists," said Michael Bilodeau, course director. "The course is student-centered, inquiry-based learning at its most adventurous. Students learn field research skills that can transfer to high school, college and beyond."

The program runs from July 28 through August 10, 2012. Students interested in the program are encouraged to contact NatureBridge directly at 209-379-9511 extension 33 or yosemitefieldresearch@naturebridge.org.
