Someone just posted that plowing is done to the East Side entrance.

What is the condition of Mt. Dana right now?

Hikable? Avalanchy? Snowshoes?

It isn't for me but my dad is wondering what the conditions are. It would be a long drive from Fresno but he is itching to go.

Tioga Road is closed at the lower gate. It snowed hard today.

Please excuse the ignorance but what is the lower gate? And does that mean Mt. Dana was accesible before today's snow?

The lower gate is the one near 395 (about 9 miles below the pass). I don't know if it was open before these storms.
