The park is working with DNC to reopen the El Portal Gas Station. Currently, the station is scheduled to be reopened by Labor Day weekend. The distribution system has been upgraded as have the underground tanks and building. In the meantime, we remind residents and employees to use the Crane Flat, Mariposa, and Wawona commercial stations for refueling. For NPS employees, please be advised that the current supply of unleaded fuel in the NPS El Portal Maintenance area gas tanks is expected to be exhausted by early next week (best estimate). We would like to alert you to this since the El Portal gas station is closed. When beginning a trip in a vehicle, please consider your fuel needs so that you do not run out of gas.
