Exposed the above image two weeks ago on October 6, 2012, east of Yosemite above Bridgeport. A Provia 100F transparency about 10:30am through my 150mm Nikor lens.
Was looking for a landscape with beautiful straw blond hues of our Sierra bunch grass in a foreground and aspen groves in the background. I often find that tall native species about aspen groves. Here I found a checkerboard mix of grass and cyan hued sagebrush that allows the subtle blond color to stand out well.
The denser golden straw hued grasses at frame middle ground were parts of a summer seep meadow.
The line of green quaking aspen represent where the most prominent small stream comes down the slope as such trees with best water supplies usually are the last to change color in our eastside aspen groves. The darker trees at the right end above clusters of bird loving dense willows are western juniper.
This area is well away from any dirt roads or trails as I hiked about 5 miles roundtrip that day which was often thrashing through the ornery sagebrush and currant bushes or dense thickets of aspen.
