This is slightly off-topic, but because June Lake's downhill skiing was closed this season, they opened up the June Lake loop for cross country skiing. It was awesome! A far better and less crowded alternative to the standard cross country ski course long established in the Lakes Basin in Mammoth. For all of you out-of-state people coming this summer to hike in Yosemite, please check out June Lake. Incredibly beautiful scenary, and only about 20 miles from the Tioga Pass entrance station.
