Currently the Tioga Road is closed on the east side at the gate about 5 miles up from 395. If I wanted to hike/ski to Tuolumne Meadows in the next week or two, and assuming that the road conditions don't change, can I park my car at or near the gate? Is there any other transportation up the road (I have heard that sometimes those who have access through the gate will pick up hitchhikers)? Any other recommendations or thoughts?
