I climbed Ragged Peak on Saturday and ended up making a nice loop over to the dome to the southeast and down to Delaney Creek. Does this dome have a name?

Never heard name for this dome. There's a zillion other ones w/o names too.
Wifie and I went up about 10 around Cold Canyon ... and the only one named
is Elbow Hill... Some really great stuff in that area... of course you have to
step off the trail to get there.... of the something like 40 miles we did...
the only "boring" part really was when we were on the trail from Lower McCabe
to near PCT Jct... at which pt. said... let's go up this dome.. and then
we'll see a lake... and we can camp there... hehehe... oopsie... couldn't see
lake... the topo is a bit off in that area.. unless I haven't a clue what 40 ft. is.
In the metric system... the whole area would look flat.... u huh.

Anywho... any chance you go up Marmot Rock?

If you love domes like I do... you owe it to yourself to check out that area.
If I have more time I'll post some more photos of the area.

Ragged is in the background....

So why don't we just give it a name, then.

Since it's by Dingley Creek and Dingley Meadow, why don't we just call it Dingley Dome and be done with it. smiling smiley

I'm sure the U.S. Board on Geographic Names will be okay with us naming it Dingley Dome. wink
