The water treatment facility in Tuolumne requires a complete upgrade. The improvements are mandatory to ensure that the NPS continues to meet safe drinking water standards. To accommodate this upgrade, the Tuolumne water treatment facility will be shut off on October 1, so that contractors can access the building to begin repairs and upgrades to the filtration system.
Many employees are scheduled to leave the area before the water system is turned off. We anticipate that any remaining employees will need to vacate the Tuolumne housing by the week of October 1, unless they are housed in one of the 5 cabins on the winter well system; 3002, 3007, 3033, 3034, 3036. There will be a very limited water supply to any other cabins, shower houses, and restrooms.
