Jen Huntley, PhD, environmental historian of the Sierra Nevada and Pacific Rim, will discuss the creation of Yosemite in a time of Civil War and industrialized mining. She will be signing her book The Making of Yosemite: James Mason Hutchings and the Origin of America’s Most Popular National Park in the courtyard following the ceremony. Come hear what should be an enlightening session on the early days of Yosemite.
