This week there have been multiple bear incidents in residential areas in Foresta and El Portal. Please close all of your windows and doors when you are not home. This is the easiest way for a bear to learn to associate homes with food, and can lead a bear down a dangerous path for both the bear and for residents. If you are at home and a bear tries to enter your residence, yell and make noise to scare the bear away immediately. Please report all bear sightings and incidents to the Save-A-Bear hotline at (209) 372-0322. For urgent bear issues, please call Yosemite Dispatch at (209) 379-1992.
