...Thunderstorm threat returns to the mountains and desert early
Next week...

Monsoonal moisture will come back into the central california
Interior monday and tuesday and help fuel thunderstorms over the
Higher terrain. The moisture will first arrive in the kern county
Mountains and desert monday afternoon and monday night where
Isolated thunderstorms are possible. A stronger northward influx
Of monsoonal moisture tuesday will expand the thunderstorm threat
Into the sierra nevada and possibly the adjacent foothills tuesday
Through tuesday evening.

In addition to dangerous cloud to ground lightning...Thunderstorms
Can bring heavy rain and localized flooding along with gusty and
Erratic winds.

Hikers...Campers and outdoor enthusiasts should monitor the latest
Forecasts from the national weather service for updates on this
Developing pattern.

The tuolumne county air pollution control district has issued an air
Quality alert in tuolumne county including portions of yosemite
National park due to smoke impacts from the rim fire.

This air quality alert is in effect until 12 pm pdt monday august 26.

Most mountain and foothill communities in tuolumne county are
Expected to be impacted by smoke.

Exposure to particle pollution can cause serious health
Problems...Aggravate lung disease...Cause asthma attacks and
Acute bronchitis...And increase risk of respiratory infections.

Residents are advised to use caution as conditions warrant.
People with heart or lung diseases should follow their doctors
Advice for dealing with episodes of unhealthy air quality.

Additionally...Older adults and children should avoid prolonged
Exposure...Strenuous activities or heavy exertion...As conditions
Dictate.
