This hazardous weather outlook is for the higher elevations of
The southern sierra nevada.

.Day one...This afternoon and tonight

No hazardous weather expected.

.Days two through seven...Sunday through friday

* snow accumulations: 2-4 inches.

* elevation: above 5000 feet.

* winds: gusts in excess of 50 mph along the sierra crest.

* timing: late sunday night through monday night.

* locations include: southern sierra nevada from yosemite
National park south to sequoia national forest.

* impacts: minor to moderate travel impacts on roads.

The national weather service in hanford has issued a winter
Weather advisory above 5000 feet for snow and strong winds
...Which is in effect from midnight tonight to 11 pm pdt monday
For the southern sierra nevada from yosemite to kings canyon.

* snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches.

* elevation: above 5000 feet.

* timing: snow developing after midnight.

* locations include: yosemite national park...Shaver lake.

* winds: strong westerly winds with occasional gusts 80 to 100 mph
