February 1 Snow Survey Results

Park Rangers have completed the February 1 snow surveys. The water content of the snowpack in the Tuolumne drainage is 9% of average and in the Merced drainage is 14% of average. Most of the courses were measured before last week's storm, however. Including a rough estimate of the water from that storm would bring the averages up to the 15-20% range for both drainages. New records for low Feb. 1 water content were set for 10 of the 15 courses in the park.
