this hazardous weather outlook is for the higher elevations of
the southern sierra nevada.

...wintry weather friday and saturday...

.day one...today and tonight

no hazardous weather expected.

.days two through seven...wednesday through monday

* snow accumulations: several inches possible above 5000 feet.
light accumulations on yosemite valley floor.

* elevation: falling to around 4000 feet.

* winds: west winds 30 to 40 mph gusting to near 70 mph.

* timing: strong gusty winds expected to develop on friday and
continue through saturday.

* locations include: southern sierra nevada...yosemite national
park...sequoia/kings canyon national parks...sierra national
forest...lodgepole...johnsondale...sequoia national forest.

* impacts: blowing and drifting snow. difficult travel along
mountain roads.

source...for further information.
