With the snow event predicted for today, Friday, October 31 through Saturday, November 1, Yosemite National Park and AT&T have suspended the temporary phone service to Tuolumne Meadows and Tioga Pass. This temporary phone service was installed as an emergency measure following the damage last summer to the telephone cable in Indian Canyon which connects Yosemite Valley to this area. AT&T will be removing some of their equipment, the generator and the equipment trailer, from the May Lake Junction parking area throughout the rest of the day today. AT&T will reinstall this equipment next spring as soon as the weather allows. This temporary suspension will impact land lines in the area, as well as the Verizon Wireless and AT&T Mobility cellular service.
