...Periods of mountain snow this weekend...

Latest forecast trends are bringing in more snow and lower snow
Levels that may affect travelers over the sierra for the
Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Snow levels may drop as low as 5500
Feet around the tahoe basin and to valley floors north of
Susanville as colder air filters in from the north. Forecast
Confidence is medium for the weekend and travelers should check
Back for updates in the coming days.

Periods of light snow will begin tonight in the sierra and continue
Through sunday night. Storm total snow amounts over the weekend
For the tahoe basin above 7000 feet may be as much as 6 to 12
Inches affecting travel over interstate 80...Highway 50 and other
Mountain highways.

For areas north of lake tahoe...Several inches are possible west
Of highway 395 above 5500 feet affecting yuba pass and fredonyer
Summit. Snow levels may drop to valley floors north of susanville
With light snow in the desert valleys of northeastern california
And western nevada.

Anyone traveling over the sierra this weekend should be prepared
For winter driving conditions and potential delays.

Last night it rained so hard here, south of Mariposa, that it took almost a half hour for the ground to dry.
