The Tenaya Fire has been reduced in size to 415 acres, as the firefighters were able to accurately map the fire from the ground by hiking the perimeter. It is 85% contained.
Firefighters will continue to patrol and secure the fire perimeter. Fire behavior is creeping and smoldering through surface fuels. There are 162 firefighters committed to the Tenaya Fire and demobilization and re-assignment of firefighters will continue. Rehabilitation and repair of suppression damage is being coordinated by park Resource Advisors (READs).
Smoke will continue to affect air quality throughout the Sierra Nevada Mountain areas, including Yosemite due to the larger fires burning throughout California.
