The Tenaya Fire is 415 acres with full (100%) containment. Fire crews will continue mop up activities over the next few days. All trails have been reopened, however signs are posted warning hikers to stay on trail while hiking adjacent to this fire. We appreciate all public contact personnel who share this safety message with anyone planning to hike through this recent burn area.

Other fires in the park that may show occasional smoke include the following lightning caused fires:
  • Cathedral Fire: 37 acres and some potential to grow until it hits natural barriers.
  • White Cascade Fire: 30 acres, remote fire, but occasionally smoke is observed from the Tuolumne Meadows region.
  • Middle Fire: 135 acres. This fire shows an increase in acreage due to a burn operation that occurred to slow the spread of this fire. It is being monitored by Yosemite Crews with assistance from outside resources.
