Three decades of archaeological compliance work has resulted in a substantial database with which to compare and contrast native settlement in Wawona with that of other areas of Yosemite National Park. Focusing on recently completed specialized analyses of artifacts recovered during archaeological monitoring of construction in Wawona the 1980s, this presentation highlights distinctive aspects of native life in Wawona, especially with respect to milling tool technology and regional interaction.
