Sonora, Calif. (Nov. 30, 2015)…The Calaveras Ranger District on the Stanislaus National Forest is hosting a public meeting regarding an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) proposal on Saturday at 9 a.m. The meeting will specifically look at a plan to officially incorporate a current user-made track, located in the Lower Interface parking area (White Pines) off of forest road 5N52, into the Forest trail system and to maintain the track in cooperation with local OHV groups and volunteers. The meeting is hosted by the recreation and OHV staff on the Calaveras Ranger District. In addition to providing information and discussing the proposal, volunteer opportunities and OHV club partnerships will also be addressed. Adoption of the trail and partnerships will improve resource protection and provide a safe environment for young riders and beginners to practice their OHV skills.

Please come ready to discuss questions and concerns related to this proposal. The meeting will be held at the Calaveras Ranger District office at: 5519 Hwy 4, Hathaway Pines, CA 95233. For more information, individuals can also contact Casey Jardine at caseyjardine@fs.fed.us or call (209) 795-1381.
