Week. A weak storm will bring light snow to the sierra nevada
On monday. This will be followed by a stronger and wetter storm
System on monday night through tuesday with the potential for
Heavy snow.

* snow accumulations...8 to 16 inches possible from yosemite to
Kings canyon. 6 to 10 inches with local amounts to 12 inches in
Tulare county.

* snow level...5000 to 6000 feet.

* timing...Although light snow will fall during the day monday...
Heavier snow will begin monday evening and continue through
Tuesday evening. Heaviest snow will be on tuesday.

* impacts...Difficult travel conditions due to snow covered and
Icy roads.

* winds...South 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant
Snow...Sleet...Or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

Warning above 6000 feet for snow...Which is in effect from 10 pm
This evening to 10 pm pst tuesday. The winter storm watch is no
Longer in effect.

* snow accumulations...12 to 16 inches above 6000 feet...With
Lighter snowfall possible between 5000 and 6000 feet.

* timing...Although light snow will fall this afternoon...
Heavier snow will begin this evening and continue through
Tuesday evening. Heaviest snow will be on tuesday.

* winds...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* impacts...Difficult travel conditions due to snow covered and
Ice covered roads.
