Dr. Jan van Wagtendonk, Emeritus, National Park Service, will be presenting A Century of Science in Yosemite National Park on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 3:30 pm in the Visitor Center Auditorium. Because of its early designation as a national park and protected area, Yosemite is a unique natural laboratory. Dr. Jan van Wagtendonk will chronicle the rich history of science at Yosemite that dates back to the early 1900s, focusing on the most important scientific studies, and science that was applicable to park management. Dr. van Wagtendonk conducted his PhD research in Yosemite, as well as many subsequent research projects and publications, and he has been an active member of Yosemite's scientific community for over 45 years.
