The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has issued a

* Flood Warning for Small Streams for...
Rain and Snowmelt in...
Eastern Mariposa County in central California...
Southern Tuolumne County in northern California...
Northeastern Madera County in central California...
North central Kern County in central California...
Central Tulare County in central California...
Northeastern Fresno County in central California...

* Until 530 AM PST Wednesday

* At 530 PM PST, radar estimates and rain gauge data indicate
rainfall that will continue to cause flooding in the warning area.

Flood waters are moving down the west slopes of the Sierra-Nevada to
lower foothill communites. Low lying flooding is already occurring
in some areas, and many rivers and streams are bankfull. Some flood
crests will occur through the night. Therefore, the Flood Warning is
in effect for all foothill locations from just north of Lake
Isabella to west of Yosemite National Park tonight.

Additionally, rock and mud slides are very possible in the warned
area. Again, this is for longer duration flooding, especially along
rivers and streams in the foothills of the aforementioned counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads or debris
on roads or highways. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
