Trail Name: Tree Wang

Legal Name: Chaocui Wang

Home: China

Search Area: Tuolumne Meadows to Sonora Pass. She is a NOBO Hiker.

Yosemite National Park have an official Missing Person. Search and Rescue is in progress. Tree was last seen on July 17 at mile 977. Map of PCT from Tuolumne to Sonora Pass with PCT mile markings: https://caltopo.com/m/8873 Kennedy Meadow North (near Sonora Pass, not the Kennedy Meadows near Olancha and US 395) has her resuply box. Tree sent it under her legal name Chaocui Wang. Her pickup date was 7/18. She is OVER-DUE. Contact has been made with Chaocui Wang's family in China.

Tree utilizes WhatsApp and has not turned it on since July 15, 2017. Please Note ~ She no longer has yellow sleeping mat, but the backpack is the same.

Sad news. Tree's body was recovered from a stream inside Yosemite.

Reading that blog post, it appears that Ms. Wang got swept away trying to cross Rancheria Creek in Kerrick Canyon on the PCT trail. This appears to be the same spot where Anya and Marcus aka "Shade" almost lost their lives (in separate incidents) earlier this year trying to cross Rancheria Creek along the PCT trail.

Thank you for sharing. I'm always interested in "PCT stuff".

In this case frankly I don't know what to make out of it. Need to read it again after work later today.
