Ecological restoration of wetland habitat will occur at Royal Arches Meadow (East Yosemite Valley, east of Backpacker's Camp, and north of Tenaya Creek and North Pines CG) from late May through June, and in October. To improve altered hydrology, crews will obliterate an abandoned road south of the meadow, and manually remove an abandoned clay pipe in the meadow. To improve native wetland vegetation, crews will remove small conifers to open up the meadow edge, which will be followed by native wetland species re-vegetation in fall. Campers and pedestrians in the area should anticipate noise from heavy equipment, and minor dump truck traffic along the paved bike path near Sugar Pine Bridge on weekdays.
