Size: 800 acres
Containment: 10%

Situation Summary: The fire grew to 800 acres overnight and firefighters achieved 10 percent containment. Resources will continue to contrast containment line today. Yosemite National Park remains open. For information on Yosemite National Park, go to https://nps.gov/yose or call +1 209 372-0200.

Mandatory Evacuations: Areas that are currently under a mandatory evacuation include addresses on Hwy.140 between Octagon Rd. and Buffalo Gulch, Bug Hostel, All of Buffalo Gulch Rd. and Briceburg Campground.

Evacuation Advisory: This is not an Evacuation Order. This is an advisement only of a potential Evacuation Order should conditions change.
  • Colorado Rd. from Hwy 140 to Davis Rd.
  • All of Davis Rd.
  • Hwy 140 from Colorado Rd. to Midpines Market
  • Ponderosa Way including all side roads: Deer Park, Leichtlin Ln., Feliciana Mountain Rd.

Situation Summary: Firefighters worked through the night on firing operations to remove fuels between the constructed containment lines and the main body of the fire. Firefighters will continue to work towards containment today.

Containment: 30%

Situation Summary: Crews worked diligently overnight to reinforce and monitor containment lines with minimal fire activity. Today Crews will begin mop up operations 200’ in from established containment lines. Recent weather patterns have helped fire suppression efforts. Yosemite National Park remains open. Minimal fire activity was reported overnight. The increase in acreage is due to better mapping. Firefighters will continue construction of containment lines and mop-up of at least 200 feet of established containment lines today.

All Mandatory Evacuation Orders and Fire advisements have been lifted today Friday October 11, 2019 at 1pm. Road Closures on Highway 140 from – 15 Miles East of Mariposa (at the top of Briceburg Grade) to Savages Trading Post, Buffalo Gulch Rd. is OPEN TO RESIDENTS ONLY
